Mr Ainscow qualified in medicine in Bristol in 1972. He was a visiting fellow in spinal surgery in Minneapolis and has had clinical and teaching appointments in England, New Zealand and America. He has been in practice as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special interest in Spinal Surgery in both the NHS and Private Practice in Cheltenham since 1984.

He has also been preparing medico-legal reports regularly for solicitors since 1978 and undertook the Medical Expert Certificate at City University Law School qualifying in April 2005.

Mr Ainscow is a member of the British Medical Association, British Orthopaedic Association, Royal Society for Medicine and the European Spine Society. He is also a member of The Society of Expert Witnesses, The Expert Witness Institute and is listed in the Law Society Directory of Expert Witnesses (checked).


Caspar Aylott

Mr Aylott qualified as a doctor in 1998. He specialises exclusively in spinal surgery and was appointed to the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust in 2010. He is central to the delivery of NHS spinal services across the County working out of both Gloucester and Cheltenham hospitals with private practice based in Cheltenham.

He completed Higher Surgical Training in Bristol and internationally recognised Spine Fellowships in Nottingham, Auckland (New Zealand), and Bristol. He is dual qualified with a degree in Mechanical and Materials Engineering from Nottingham University. He also has a Doctorate looking at motion preserving technologies in the spine. He is actively involved with research, presents regularly at National and International Meetings, and is well published in the major Spine Journals.

Mr Aylott is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons, the British Association of Spinal Surgeons and the AO Spine Community. He does medico-legal practice.

Mr Aylott treats most spinal pathologies. He performs fusion and non-fusion technologies such as disc replacement. He can offer percutaneous and minimally invasive solutions where appropriate. He is up-to-date with the current management of spinal deformity including degenerative scoliosis. He offers a sensible approach to spinal problems based on sound decision making.
